Anything purchased from Berkey Water Filter System may be returned within 60 days of delivery for refund or exchange, following the guidelines under "Returns" and "Refunds," below.

Note: New-equipment boxes may be opened for inspection or the inclusion of "information" sheets prior to shipping.

Payment Methods

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Paypal.

Occasionally we are unable to process international credit cards or credit cards whose issuing banks do not subscribe to address verification or other fraud prevention practices. In those cases we recommend paying by cashier’s check or wire transfer.

Safe Shopping: Identity Theft and Fraud Prevention

We use SSL secure transactions, which means that we use a secure server to process your payment information. Our system is very secure and your data will be safe. We will not release your data for any reason to any other company or individual.

The "Credit Card Fraud Act" 18 U.S.C.A. § 1029, prohibits fraud and/or related activity in connection with credit card or other credit card access devices. We report instances of credit card fraud, theft by deception, intent to defraud, and criminal misrepresentations to local law enforcement agencies, and/or local district attorney prosecutors, whether those activities arise under federal and/or state law. By placing this order you expressly agree to purposefully avail yourself to legal proceedings, jurisdiction and venue in the State of Alabama, Shelby County.

Condition of Goods Sold:

Used merchandise is never sold as new. New-equipment cartons may be opened for inspection or inclusion of "tips" info sheets before being shipped to you.

Returns:

All damaged or defective Items must be returned in as-shipped condition, complete and in factory packaging.

All items must be returned to the manufacturer.

E-mail or call for Return Authorization (RA) number before returning any item.

A repackaging fee will apply if packing materials are not returned complete

. Postage and insurance are the responsibility of the sender, except if we or the manufacturer made a mistake shipped the wrong item.

Care should be taken to individually wrap each part to protect from scratching or rubbing, because shipping insurance doesn't cover damage caused by inadequate packing (including parts being damaged by contact with other parts inside the box.)

Refunds:

Refunds (including for deliveries refused by customer) are subject to 15% restocking fee with $10 minimum. This is imposed by the manufacturer, not us.

This applies if a customer returns an item for exchange or mistakenly orders the wrong product.

Refused Deliveries:

Refused deliveries and order cancellations received after merchandise has been shipped are considered "items returned".

Exchanges:

There is no restocking fee for exchanges of equal or greater value, if the item being exchanged is returned in condition as shipped.

Defective Equipment:

Within 30 days, customers may opt to have defective machines replaced or refunded.

After 30 days, the terms of the manufacturer's warranty apply. We will pay shipping cost for return of defective items only from within the 50 U.S. States and Canada.

Shipment of replacement for defective items will be by surface shipping only (except for AK and HI, which will be by mail only.)

Shipping, General Information:

Standard shipping is by FedEx Ground shipping. Some small items are shipped via U.S. Postal.

Other shipping options are available (call).

Shipping damage must be reported at the time of delivery or within 7 days.

Ground shipping is free to the 48 states for orders over $99, except where noted on product pages.

Shipment Method for Remedy of Error:

In the event that we ship a wrong item, shipment of a replacement item within the U.S. 48 states will be by ground shipping. If you order any item for shipment within the U.S. but intend to use it outside the U.S., be sure to inspect it thoroughly before taking it outside the country because we will pay for shipment of replacement items only to U.S. and Canadian addresses.

Personal Checks and Money Orders:

Orders paid with a money order purchased from a U.S. Post Office are processed for shipment as soon they're received (for a U.S. Postal Money Order you must take cash to a U.S. Post Office.)

Orders paid with a check or with a money order purchased anywhere other than a U.S. Post Office must wait several days before processing.

International Orders and Shipping Costs

Our Guarantee applies only to purchases made and shipped within Canada and the continental USA.
Manufacturers warrantee applies to all purchases, regardless of location.
Please contact us for information regarding Warrantee returns.

Note: International Electric Power converters are the responsibility of the customer. Products sold on this website conform to U.S. power supply standards.

1. Cost of Shipping: The cost of shipping will depend on the weight of the product, the price of the product, and where you live.

To calculate the cost of shipping:

  • Select the product you want and click the Buy button.
  • When you arrive at the checkout page, complete the shipping address. Make sure you select your country. Contact us if your country is not shown.(contact info below)
  • Only USPS Global Express Mail is available for international orders outside the US. Selecting a different shipping method will delay your order being processed. Select Global Express as your shipping method.
  • Click the Apply button and the website will show your shipping costs.

You will not be charged until you complete the payment section and select the Continue button.

2. Delivery Times: International delivery times vary, but normally delivery will take place within 7-10 days. Your product will ship out from the warehouse, but we will send you a tracking number if possible

.3. Tarriffs and Duties: Your are responsible to pay all tariffs and duties when the product arrives.

Import Fees/ Duty:

Any and all import fees or duties which may be assessed on items shipped outside the U.S. are solely the responsibility of the purchaser.Make sure you are clear about all the costs to importing these products inot your country

Alaska and Hawaii Orders:

There are additional charges for shipping most items to AK and HI (due to much higher costs from carriers), and most shipments to AK and HI are by Priority Mail.

Non U.S./Canadian Orders:

For orders for shipment outside the U.S. and Canada we cannot accept payment by credit card. Payment must be by cashier's check from a U.S. owned bank such as Bank of America,
(Call or email us for payment arrangements.)

Credit Card Billing Address:

Berkey Water Filter System accepts payment by credit cards having a U.S. billing address only. ("Billing address" is the address at which you receive your credit card statements from your credit card company.)

Privacy:

We do not sell or otherwise disclose customer information to any outside party not directly involved in fulfilling your order.

Security:

Our online ordering system is encrypted for your protection. Customer credit card information is never transmitted by insecure means. Credit card information is automatically, securely deleted at an interval following order fulfillment – not stored indefinitely.

Occasionally someone sends us an ordinary email containing their credit card information... DON'T do that, because email isn't a secure channel.

Back Orders and Special Orders

If an item is backordered it means that the item is temporarily out of stock at our primary warehouse. If an item is special order it means that it needs to be custom fit for your specifications. In either case, your payment is authorized but not processed.

We will contact you by email or phone to find out whether you want to place the item on backorder for 30 days, or to collect the requirements for the special order. Different shipping charges often apply for special orders.

Backorders and Special Orders are often filled within seven to ten working days, however, in rare circumstances when a manufacturer is out of a product it can take up to a month for the item to arrive at our warehouse. Upon arrival it will ship to you within one business day via the shipping method (UPS Ground, Overnight etc.) you selected at checkout.

If you do not want the item backordered or special ordered, let us know and we will cancel your order.

If you do want to proceed, let us know and we will charge your card for additional shipping fees, if any.

If we are unable to fulfill a backorder within 30 days, we will cancel your order. If you wish to keep it on backorder, we will have to recollect your payment information and reauthorize your card since our system does not keep payment information for longer than 30 days.

Typos:

Berkey Water Filter System is not responsible for typographical errors. We do appreciate hearing about any inaccurate information on our site.

Warrantees

We realize that it can be frustrating to receive a damaged or defective product, or to receive the wrong product. We are committed to doing everything in our power to respond quickly and efficiently to your needs.

Please note the following regarding Manufacturers Warranty:

Warranties for products sold by Berkey Water Filter System are offered and provided solely by the product's manufacturer.
Most manufacturers require proof of purchase (and of purchase date) with warranty claim, so it's important to keep your receipt. Berkey Water Filter System will provide a courtesy copy of your receipt upon request if possible, but we can't guarantee availability of such records. 


We will accept returns of damaged or defective merchandise within 30 days of date of delivery. 


We will pay for the cost of shipping of damaged or defective merchandise.


We will pay shipping cost for return of defective items only from within the 50 U.S. States and Canada.
Shipment of replacement for defective items will be by surface shipping only (except for AK and HI, which will be by mail only.

The following section on “returns” applies to units that have been installed or used and found defective and are under factory warrantee.

Refused Deliveries:

Refused deliveries and order cancellations received after merchandise has been shipped are considered "items returned".

"I received the wrong product "
If we or the manufacturer have mistakenly sent you the wrong product

  • First of all we apologize
  • Please call us prior to returning the product for shipping instructions for a “return Authorization” number.
  • Shipping costs will be paid by either us or the manufacturer.
  • Replacement product will be shipped upon receipt of the returned product.

"I ordered the wrong product and would like to exchange it":

  • Sorry, but shipping costs for exchanges in this case are not refundable.
  • Refund of the product will be made immediately upon receipt of the product.
  • Simply order the correct product and we will do our best to expedite its shipment.
  • There is no restocking fee for exchanges of equal or greater value if the item being exchanged is returned in condition as shipped.

"I am not happy with the product and would like to return it":

• We're sorry you are not satisfied with your Berkey product.
• Please call us prior to shipping your product (we won't bug you, just provide shipping details)
